Kersten Thor on a construction sites tour
Being close to the action, having an open ear for his boys, learning from each other – Kersten Thor started his construction site tour through Germany at the end of September 2019. In the meantime, he has already been able to visit several THORians. We look back & show you pictures:

“Back to the roots – like coming home from a long journey. I feel very comfortable when I’m with our guys,” says Kersten Thor proudly after his first visit to the construction site. Before becoming self-employed, the managing director worked as a heating engineer. He learned the profession from the bottom up. His eyes light up all the more when he is on a construction site.
During his visits, he not only wants to inspect the construction sites and get an up-to-date picture, he also wants to talk to his THORians. His goal: “To record what is going well, but also what is ‘not’ going well. It’s important for me to listen to our boys, exchange ideas with them and find out what we can do better. We learn from each other and these experiences are always wonderful and immensely important. I also often meet our customers during the visits, which makes it all the more enriching.”
3 Touren, 11 Baustellen, 58 Monteure
In the meantime, there have already been 3 tours. This means: 11 construction sites were visited and 58 fitters were visited. But that’s not the end of the construction site tour – it continues!
Among them were some fitters who have known our managing director for many years. A joyful reunion for some and a warm get-together for others, so to speak. However, this “difference” was not recognizable. Familiar groups, everyone always got talking quickly, there was no trace of reservations.
More experiences, stories and memorable moments await. Kersten Thor: “I generally take a very focused approach to the conversations and also like to listen between the lines. The stories that the guys often tell are humbling and very touching about what they sometimes take on for this job.”

Kersten Thor started out as a one-man company in April 1998 – the birth of THOR Industriemontagen. The company now has over 1,100 employees. The majority of them work in the skilled trades and support customers in seven trades(electrical technology, heating and sanitary technology, pipeline construction, elevator technology, refrigeration and air conditioning technology, ventilation technology and medical technology). The remaining THORians are commercially active at our 5 locations. They take care of all the logistics, sales and marketing – so everything runs smoothly in day-to-day business.
